Bubblemaker is not a course — it is play that happens to teach a child to breathe underwater. The child gets gear sized to fit, walks into the shallow end, and for the first quarter of an hour simply gets used to the fact that air arrives on its own.
Then the games start: carrying objects along the bottom, an obstacle course, underwater noughts and crosses. The instructor is in the water the whole time, within arm’s reach.
Who it is for
Children from age 8 who swim well enough to feel at ease in water. No experience and no equipment needed.
What comes next
Bubblemaker grants no certification — it answers the question of whether the child wants to dive. If they do, the next step is Discover Scuba Diving, and from age 10, Junior Open Water Diver.
