Dive profile

The training path
is a sequence of depths

Scroll down. Each grade opens a few more metres and ends with a certification that stays with you for good.

  1. Students with an instructor during a session in the dive pool

    You start in the pool

Your first breaths happen at the shallow end, in room-temperature water. You learn three things: equalising your ears, clearing your mask and recovering your regulator. Everything after that is repeating them in more interesting places.

    Discover Scuba Diving

    Depth: Pool

  2. A diver suspended in mid-water in a shaft of light from the surface

    Your first open water

Twelve metres is where colour starts to drain and pressure becomes something you feel. You dive under an instructor's supervision, and the Scuba Diver course ends with a certification every dive centre in the world recognises.

    Scuba Diver

    Depth: 12 m

  3. A group of divers in full kit before the water entry

    You dive with a buddy

Open Water Diver is the point where you stop being a student. You walk into any dive centre, rent gear and go down to eighteen metres with a buddy. The certification does not expire.

    Open Water Diver

    Depth: 18 m

  4. Sea turtle above a coral reef in the Red Sea

    Wreck, night, current

Advanced Open Water Diver opens up thirty metres and five specialty dives. This is where diving starts being the reason people buy plane tickets.

    Advanced Open Water Diver

    Depth: 30 m

  5. Diver in a flooded cave, silhouetted against blue light falling through the entrance

    The recreational limit

Forty metres is not an arbitrary number. Three things grow at once: gas consumption, nitrogen narcosis, and the cost of every mistake. We teach you to go that deep with a reserve and a plan, not with hope.

    Deep Diver

    Depth: 40 m

  6. A diver in sidemount configuration with two cylinders along the body

    Past recreational

Sidemount, closed circuit, decompression. Below the recreational limit the surface stops being available, and the ascent becomes a procedure you plan before you enter the water.

    KISS Sidewinder 2 CCR

    Depth: below 40 m

Every grade has its own page with the price, the prerequisites and what the price covers.

Why us

Three things we will not
cut corners on

Underwater there is no room for compromise. These three pillars have shaped how we work since 1990.

Safety

A priority, not a slogan

  • Gear serviced and tested before every course
  • Training to international agency standards
  • Emphasis on emergency procedures, not just pleasant diving
  • An experienced guide on every group dive

Professionalism

You learn from practitioners

  • Thousands of hours underwater and hundreds of certified divers
  • PADI, TDI, SDI and CMAS — you pick the system that suits you
  • Pace set by the student, not by the calendar
  • From Open Water to sidemount, rebreathers and technical diving

Honest pricing

No hidden charges

  • Materials, certification and training gear are in the course price
  • What is outside the price is written out — usually only travel
  • Course packages, group discounts and club-member rates
  • Gear at dealer prices, serviced on site
