Closed circuit is a different technology of diving. Instead of venting exhaled gas into the water, the rebreather strips carbon dioxide out of it and adds back as much oxygen as the body used. The result: no bubbles, hours of run time on one set, and an optimal mix at every depth.
The KISS Sidewinder 2
A mechanical unit in sidemount configuration — with no electronics governing oxygen addition. Simplicity here is a feature, not a limitation: fewer things to break, full control on the diver’s side, a smaller unit to travel with.
This is demanding training
A rebreather forgives less than open circuit. A large part of the course is emergency procedure: recognising hyperoxia and hypoxia, a sorb breakthrough, a flooded loop, going to bailout. We do not finish the course until you perform them without thinking.
Prerequisites
Advanced Open Water Diver, the nitrox specialty and documented experience. We talk before you sign up — and if we judge that this is not the moment yet, we will say so plainly.
