Adventure Diver is a way of finding out which direction you want to take. You pick three dives from the specialty list — night, navigation and wreck, for instance — and complete the first module of each.

If one of them grabs you, you carry on with the full specialty. If not, you keep the experience and the certification.

Your options

Night diving, underwater navigation, deep diving, peak performance buoyancy, dry suit, wreck diving, search and recovery, drift diving.

The route to AOWD

All three dives count towards Advanced Open Water Diver — after Adventure Diver you have two left, of which deep and navigation are compulsory.

Training path

← Previous level Open Water Diver Full certification to dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres, valid for life, anywhere in the world. Next level → Advanced Open Water Diver Five specialty dives, with deep and navigation compulsory. The limit moves out to 30 metres.
