Rescue Diver
Recognising stress, rescuing a panicked diver, helping an unresponsive one, preventing accidents.
- Depth
- 30 m
- Format
- rescue scenarios + theory
- Prerequisites
- Advanced Open Water Diver + EFR
- Agency
- PADI
The hardest and most transformative course on the recreational path. Until now you learned to look after yourself. Now you learn to watch other people.
What you learn
To recognise stress in your buddy before it turns into panic — because nearly every diving accident starts several minutes earlier than it appears to. To approach a panicked diver without being pulled under. To bring an unresponsive diver up from depth, tow them on the surface and give rescue breaths on the way to shore. To take charge of a situation where a diver is missing.
It will be exhausting
The scenarios are physically and mentally draining, and they are meant to be. A skill that only works when you are rested is not a rescue skill.
Prerequisite
A current first-aid certification — ours is EFR (Emergency First Response) at 1200 PLN. If you hold a current first-aid course from elsewhere, we will check whether it qualifies.
