Divemaster is the point where diving stops being only your pleasure and starts being responsibility for other people. You lead groups, assist on courses, run the briefing, and answer for everyone coming back.
What you learn
To plan and lead dives for people of widely different experience. To spot who in the group will need attention before you get in the water. To service and diagnose equipment. To run a training programme on the organisational side — because a dive centre is also a schedule, gear to prepare, and a customer on the phone with a question.
This is an internship, not a course
Divemaster takes as long as it takes. The theory goes quickly; the rest you earn on real courses with real customers, here at the centre.
What comes next
Assistant Instructor, and then the full instructor course. The route to working in the industry starts here.
